The motivation, the goal of Woonpioniers, founded in 2015, was and is simple in essence: we empower pioneers in making healthy, personal and affordable homes a reality. Compact but high-quality building and the smart sharing of facilities have often been important ingredients. Not long after we started, the Tiny House movement got a foothold in the Netherlands and that gave us a flying start: the media was suddenly swarming with small houses and inspired citizens throughout the country knocked on the door of governments. And on ours.

Since then a lot has happened. The 'Tiny Village', which we are realizing for housing corporation Rentree, is a great example. While many embrace the idea of ​​small, qualitative houses and a relaxed community vibe, not everyone has access to a suitable location and the resources to get started. This project combines the principles of both 'Tiny' and Co-housing within a social set-up and is designed in close collaboration with the future residents.

Already when we were founded in 2015, we philosophized that housing corporations and the Tiny House movement potentially form a strong match. Now it's up to us to prove it! For this project we work within a design-and-build construction with contractor Hunebouw. The first sod of this project will go into the ground in 2022.
