(e)Co-living studio @ RAvB
In 2019 Rotterdamse Academie van Bouwkunst invited us to set up a studio program for it's students. Since we spend quite a lot of time working on contemporary ways of (e)co-living in our own practice, we based our studio on this beautiful theme. The want for collectively developed housing projects is strong but in the Netherlands good examples are not wide spread. Time to get exploring with the students of RAvB.
We challenged each student to choose a specific, somewhat radical target group, set up program requirements, work on a spatial design and, as an end product, create a short engaging animation. Animating is not just a valuable skill to have played around with but it also forces you to get to the core of your storyline. We asked Illustrators Nanna de Jong en Jamie Stulen, with whom we ourselves love to work with, to supervise this aspect.
Further we arranged a excursion to Berlin, as part of the studio's program, a city with lot's of interesting collective living projects.
Down below we made a selection of the animations, the end result of this term.
